It is hard to believe that our week is rapidly drawing to a close. Unlike other trips, this one always seems to go quickly. Pat says it’s because Vallarta is so familiar to us. We have been coming here since 1987 and this is our 15th or 16th trip, something like that. There is a good chance that we will return again in February or March of 2021 to celebrate Vicki’s 75th birthday. She’s in the right front. Her birthday is actually in September, but it’s too hot and rainy here at that time of year. She is looking to book a large house, likely one in town rather than staying here at Ocho Cascadas. Her friend Laura, who is at the front left, is a longtime PVO resident who is helping to make the arrangements. We will see what transpires, but if it comes together we will certainly hope to take part in the festivities.

As is clear from the photo at the top, we did some entertaining. It’s the outgrowth of having booked the penthouse, but that’s OK. It was fun. The other two people are also friends of Vicki’s who she originally met in Houston but who now live outside of Denver. Actually, in the mountains near the Breckinridge ski resort. Needless to say, they had enough of snow and jumped at the chance to come here when a unit opened up on short notice. The musical interlude was a surprise, but Pedro and Lalo evidently enjoy doing it. Repeat visitors ask them to play.

We can say that we were treated to some good whale shows on this trip. One afternoon the whales that come to this area to spawn were especially active, playfully breaching for a good hour. They were also out last evening and hopefully we will see more today.

We really didn’t do much other than walk into town for a little exercise, and play golf once. And for any golf friends reading this, no we are not posting the scores, get over it. We played “vacation” golf. Rolled the ball when it suited us, and gave ourselves generous do-overs. So basically not a real score to record. But for using rental clubs (older series Callaway XRs) we hit the ball pretty well. We played the Nicklaus layout at Vista Vallarta. My highlight was not losing any of the balls I brought in the jungle. It’s a good track, but expensive. Additional photos follow.
