My sister, who is not a golfer, asked me why we were leaving the finally perfect weather of 80’s and sunny in New Jersey for the 50’s and rainy days of Scotland. Every golfer knows the answer to that question. Scotland is the home of golf. Anyone who plays golf and travels has the destination on their bucket list.
I always assumed Jim and I would travel to Scotland one day – get in a few rounds and then tour the country. (I was in Edinburgh during my junior year abroad in England, but that’s a fond but distant memory.)
But last year some of Jim’s golfing buddies asked him to join a trip to Scotland, so what’s a girl to do? I got my own posse together, and Jim and I are doing parallel golf trips, then meeting in Glasgow for more touring,
As I pack, I keep wondering – why did I do this? I’m not a good golfer. These courses are going to kick my butt. But as Jim and I often say, we’ve played bad golf in a lot of beautiful places, so why not add Scotland to the list?
Jim and his gang are starting their trip in Northern Ireland, then traveling to the west coast of Scotland, whereas the girl band is playing on the east coast, including St. Andrews.
We’ll each be blogging when we can, so hopefully we can offer a good perspective on the hacker’s experience in Scotland.
Fore!

I trust both you and Jim have a wonderful time playing poor golf on the hardest courses in the world. Enjoy
