Why Norway and Sweden?

The answer to this question is straightforward this time. My niece is graduating from Uppsala University in Sweden in June, and this is a continuation of planning a trip around her travels. First we visited her in Paris while she was doing a semester abroad there, then we traveled to New Zealand for a visit. So of course we had to go to Sweden!

Outside of the Vana & Kon Tiki museums in Oslo. Our first day was warm and sunny.

Although I’m sure there is enough in Sweden to keep us busy for a while, we’d always talked about a Norwegian cruise, so adding in Norway made sense. However, I wanted to get more ‘in touch’ with the country than a cruise allows, so we’ll be spending time traveling around the country before we join a ferry along the Norwegian coast. More on that later.

Reading about the rainy weather we were likely to encounter in Norway, I started to wonder why we’d leave Spring in New Jersey for cold and rainy Norway. As it turns out, it’s cold and rainy in New Jersey, so I don’t expect Norway to be much worse. In any event, we have our warm clothes and rain gear so we’re ready!
