We arrived in Cape Town on Monday afternoon after two flights from our safari lodge, the first a 20-minute hop on a 12 passenger Cessna piloted by two chubby young pilots in their mid 20s to connect with a airline flight from Nelspruit. We were the only passengers on the short fight so it was actually kind of fun. It beat the two hour drive in on our arrival day. Our lodgings in Cape Town are in two Victorian era homes converted into a B&B. It is in a quiet residential area in walking distance to several restaurants. We are at the bar of one that was jammed on a Monday night, so we were lucky to grab those seats. The bar crowd appeared to be mostly comprised of young Americans and us, not sure about the tables.
Before we left we had a great final game drive. We found where the leopard we had seen the day before had moved her kill. The impala’s carcass was deftly hung in a tree to keep it out of the reach of hyenas. She was snoozing below, but we got to watch her stretch, stroll over to the tree and dart up it to continue snacking. Warning, the following photo involvea wild leopard doing what it does, though it is followed by images of young hyenas, also witnessed Monday morning. They are very curious and actually kind of cute. Off for a tour of the southern cape today.

the shot of the leopard was pretty amazing and the hyenas do look cute but so close to you in that jeep. I see where you are on my map. sounds like an active spot if the bar was that busy – meet any new jersey folks??mom
