We did get to the top of Table Mountain yeaterday; it took about 90 minutes from the time we got into the queue until when we reached the top, but the views were gorgeous and the cable car ride up breath-taking. There really isn’t much to say about this part, better to let the pictures tell the story.
The next stop was the Kirstenbosh Gardens just below Table Mountain. Normally botanical gardens have not been our thing on vacation, or even at home, as our last visit to Longwood Gardens south of Philadelphia was probably 25 years ago. But several people, including our exuberant game guide Mark, recommended we visit and we were awed. It is a huge expanse of hilly terrain that is really just stunning, including the flower below named for Nelson Mandela.
