Adios, Costa Rica!

We’ve been remiss in posting. This is why we don’t
usually blog from R&R vacations – there just isn’t that much to say!
But this getaway has been fantastic. The weather has been
perfect, and the hotel lived up to expectations. We went on a sunset cruise and
saw whales; had dinner at the nearby marina (where Steve Jobs’ yacht is still
docked); golfed and spa’ed.
Yesterday we visited the Prieta Beach Club. It’s a lovely
property on the beach with a couple pools and restaurants. It’s part of the
Papagayo Peninsula complex, which is funded by the government. I think there
will be a lot more happening here over the years – glad we got to experience it
while it still feels remote and unspoiled.
For those of you who are Facebook friends with Jim, you
may have seen that he has a new doppelganger – Costa Rica’s Minister of
Education. They look quite a bit alike, and apparently all week the staff has
been referring to Jim as ‘the minister.’ As in, ‘the minister needs a shuttle
to the golf course.’ Too funny. Though Jim’s brother is actually even more of a
match.
So it’s down to one more breakfast, a few more hours of
sun, packing – and then home. Looking forward to hanging out with friends and
family again – but wouldn’t it be better if you all came here???
